Destroyed during the second world war, Colonia, was reconstructed by its citizens bringing it to its actual shine. The old part is very characteristic, can lose us between its narrow alleys and its pleasant taverns. One of the parts more frequented by the tourists are the Gardens of the Rhine understood among the river Rhine and the old part. For different centuries this city was called "Saint Colony" because it entertained to its inside twelve Romanesque churches, also them destroyed during the war, but subsequently reconstruct.

The Cathedral of Colonia is one of the greatest and important churches in Germany, every year around 6 millions visitors approach to admire its beauty and its majesty. To build the Cathedral it almost needed 600 years, to her inside works of art of enormous value are guarded as for instance: the shrine of the Three Kings Magi. The Cathedral is the symbol of the city and in 1998 part of the world cultural patrimony of the UNESCO was proclaimed. The historical center is very pleasant, in the beautiful spring days, the squares are a to follow of places with the small tables to the open one, where the Kolsch can be tasted, the typical clear beer, light and very fermented, over whether to taste some specialties of the German cuisine.
